அருண் மற்றும் தன் தம்பி கிரண் ஒரு மழை மாலை வீட்டில் விளையாடிக் கொண்டிருந்தார்கள். வெளி மழை விற்று விற்று பெய்து கொண்டிருந்தது. "நாங்கள் என்ன செய்வோம்?" கிரண் கேட்டான். அருண் சிந்தித்து, "நாம் ஒரு கோபுரம் கட்டலாம்" என்று கூறினார். இரு பேரும் தங்கள் கைதோழ் பெட்டிகளை எடுத்து வந்தார்கள். அவர்கள் பெரிய துணிகளையும், மூடைகளையும் பயன்படுத்தி ஒரு பெரிய கோபுரம் கட்டினார்கள். அதன் உள்புறம் மிகவும் அமைதியாகவும், மெதுவாகவும் இருந்தது. இரு பேரும் அதன் உளே உட்கார்ந்து, கதைகள் பேசினார்கள்.
