Section A: Vocabulary & Grammar [20 marks]

Question 1 [2 marks] Answer: (B) வேகமாக

• The sentence "அவர் புத்தகத்தை வேகமாக படித்தார்" means "He/she read the book quickly." The context implies reading a book, and "வேகமாக" (quickly) is the most natural adverb to describe reading speed. "மெதுவாக" (slowly) is contextually possible but less likely as a standalone answer. "அமைதியாக" (quietly) and "சத்தமாக" (loudly) do not fit the verb "படித்தார்" (read) naturally.

Question 2 [2 marks] Answer: (D) தொடர்ந்து

• The sentence means "Students must study continuously." "தொடர்ந்து" (continuously/steadily) fits best with the meaning of persistent education. "நல்ல" (good), "உயர்ந்த" (high), and "முழுமையான" (complete) are adjectives that do not grammatically fit the blank as naturally as the adverb "தொடர்ந்து."

Question 3 [2 marks] Answer: நடைபயின்றேன்

• The verb "நடைபயில்" (to jog/walk) must be conjugated in the past tense for the first person singular ("நான்"). The correct past tense form is "நடைபயின்றேன்." The time marker "நேற்று" (yesterday) confirms past tense is required.
